"?Southampton manager Ronald Koeman has crossed club boundaries to give advice to Tottenham pair Dele Alli and Harry Kane ahead of England's Euro 2016 kickoff against Russia on Saturday evening.
Koeman is widely expected to complete a deal to become Everton's new manager in the coming days or weeks, but took time out of his summer to fire some helpful words to Kane and Alli via his column in the "?Mirror.
Here's @RonaldKoeman on England's #Euro2016 chances - writing exclusively for @MirrorFootball https://t.co/EbsPZdFwNL
He wrote: "Players like Harry Kane and Dele Alli need to see these finals as the platform where they can step up to a new level and show the world just how good they are. It's a different challenge to club football.
"That's what Van Basten, Gulllit and Rijkaard did with us. Now is the moment to show they are the future of the England team and prove the future is really positive. They need experience and they'll come on even more at a major championship like this."
The former Dutch international also talked about the importance of team unity, adding: "Holland didn't win that tournament because we had those three stars. It was because of the spirit within our squad. It was because any players left on the substitutes bench accepted he still had a role within our squad.

"If everyone in your squad stays united you have a chance. You then create the stage for the great players to help you become even better. And I promise you will quickly see if your squad is united and pulling in the same direction. Just take a look at the substitutes bench when a goal is scored. Do the subs join in the celebrations or sit still on the bench as if the game is passing them by?"
