AS Nigeria’s Super  Eagles captain Mikel Obi continues the battle for life outside the Bridge in Chelsea with Valencia and Chinese Club dangling offers for his signature, Gernot Rohr says he would not drop his captain if he chooses the big money of China over signing for Valencia.

‘’I’ll prefer him to play in Europe, to sign for Valencia. That is my wish for him. But it does not mean that I will close the door against him if he decides to play in the rich Chinese League.

He is an experienced player and knows what is good for him. I’ll respect his opinion. The reason I want him to play in Europe is for greater competition. But that does not mean that his football will go down if he decides to go to China. He can be better in China because he’ll be playing regularly. That is what he was not been doing in Chelsea. That can spur him to become a better player. No matter where he plays, what is important is his form’’, said Rohr.

He also assured that he he would get younger players to strengthen areas where players who are not playing regularly in their clubs are manning in the Super Eagles.
