At the Nnamdi Azikiwe Stadium, Enugu, Rangers International maintained their impressive home form with a comfortable 2–0 win over Kano Pillars. Emmanuel Essien put the Flying Antelopes ahead early in the 11th minute, while an own goal by Mukhtar Mohammed shortly after the restart in the 49th minute sealed all three points for the hosts in front of their fans.
In Aba, nine-time champions Enyimba International claimed a narrow 1–0 victory over Bayelsa United at the Enyimba International Stadium. The decisive moment came late in the encounter, as Samuel Agu found the net in the 81st minute to hand the People’s Elephant a hard-earned win.

In Katsina, Katsina United recorded an emphatic 2–0 win over Abia Warriors, courtesy of a quick-fire brace from Uche Collins, who scored in the 55th and 58th minutes to secure maximum points for the home side.
