PSG's Marquinhos Wants Barcelona Move Amid Interest from Chelsea, City and United

Published on: 01 June 2016

"?Paris Saint-Germain defender Marquinhos is desperate to leave the French capital this summer as he eyes a move to Barcelona, according to Brazilian media outlet UOL Esporte.

Chelsea, Manchester United and Manchester City have all made offers for the 22-year-old, but his priority remains linking up with compatriot Neymar at the Catalan outfit.

Marquinhos, however, would consider joining one of the three aforementioned interested Premier League sides should a move to Barcelona prove impossible.

Any side interested in Marquinhos could face a number of obstacles however, as PSG owner Nasser Al-Khelaifi is a big fan of the young centre-back as he sees him as 31-year-old defender Thiago Silva's natural successor.

That does not change Marquinhos' desire to leave as a result of a lack of playing time.

David Luiz and Silva have been Laurent Blanc's preferred duo in the heart of defence for some time and Marquinhos is looking to join a club where he can be given assurances that he will play a more significant role.

While he did make 42 appearances for the Parisians across all competitions this season, Marquinhos only started 20 Ligue 1 matches.

It is believed that PSG would at least want to recoup €50m if they were to sell.
