Premier League Transfer Rumours: Carrillo, Morata, Eriksen and More

Published on: 24 May 2016

"?It's getting to the time of year when clubs are making deals and actually announcing them - looking at you here, Arsenal and Liverpool - making the rumour mill that little bit more tantalising with the knowledge that the deals could be just days away.

There's a handful of complicated chain moves knocking around today, with fun and games on the cards for both Arsenal and Manchester United.

Shall we get stuck in?

People are scrabbling to leave the sinking wreckage of Aston Villa, with goalkeeper Brad Guzan the latest reported to be considering a move - with a return to his native USA on the cards.

"?Sports Illustrated's Grant Wahl has claimed that the 31-year-old could end his eight-year spell with Villa for the right offer, with at least two Premier League clubs interested in addition to the American angle.

David Gold has told Middlesbrough to 'dream on' after reports that they could move for West Ham's Michail Antonio this summer after being promoted from the Championship.

The Hammers' co-owner took to

" target="_blank">"?Twitter to remark on a story in the Evening Standard about questions over Antonio's future, writing: "Evening Standard "? Newly promoted Middlesbrough have reportedly identified Michail Antonio as a key target this summer. (Dream on. dg)".

"?The Mail report that Crystal Palace could be preparing a swoop for West Brom's Saido Berahino this summer, with a fee as small as £7m on the table.

The Baggies turned down bids of around £25m from Spurs for the forward last summer, but a combination of his indifferent form and the fact that his contract runs out next summer means that chairman Jeremy Peace is likely to be forced into accepting a much lower figure in the upcoming transfer window.

After Watford's capture of Jerome Sinclair was confirmed recently, the "?Liverpool Echo claim that the Hornets could be set to make a follow-up dart at 19-year-old Sergi Canos.

The youngster impressed on loan at Brentford this past season, returning to Anfield just in time to make his first-team debut against West Brom in Liverpool's season closer - but a contract dispute looks set to see him leave. Watford and QPR are said to be the most interested in the £4m-rated teen, with Brentford also keeping an eye on proceedings.

" target="_blank">"?Tom Allnutt has revealed that Manchester United were interested in signing Tottenham midfielder Christian Eriksen under Louis van Gaal, with the Dane high on the club's target list for the coming summer.

Eriksen was second only to Mesut Ozil in the Premier League's assist charts this past season, and is currently in the midst of negotiating a new deal with Spurs - with talks said to have stalled.

31-year-old Sunderland midfielder Emanuele Giaccherini looks to be set for an exit from the Stadium of Light this summer, with his agent urging Fiorentina to move quickly or risk losing out.

"?Agent Furio Valcareggi said"If Corvino now wants him at Fiorentina, he should call me and we would be willing to talk about it. We need to do it soon, though, because he's a player for the national team and he's appreciated by lots of coaches."

Transfer fees in the Premier League are flying higher and higher, and Stoke City chief executive Tony Scholes has admitted that the club could break their transfer record this summer, for the third time in 12 months.

After spending £12m and £18.3m on Xherdan Shaqiri and Gianelli Imbula respectively, "?Scholes admitted"If the right player becomes available, it's not beyond the realms of possibility that we would do it again in the summer."

With Newcastle looking to trim down their squad following relegation - and players jumping ship to avoid playing in the Championship - the "?Shields Gazette report that Daryl Janmaat and Papiss Cisse could be on their way out of St James' Park.

The two players are looking at vastly different destinations, with Janmaat linked to Italian champions Juventus while Cisse is said to be considering a switch to Qatar to play for Lekhwiya.

Romelu Lukaku is said to have his heart set on a return to Chelsea, but the "?Evening Standard report that the Blues are refusing to meet the £65m price tag that Everton have slapped on the Belgian star's head.

Antonio Conte is said to want a second striker to support and compete with Diego Costa up front at Stamford Bridge, but even Roman Abramovich's seemingly bottomless pockets are unwilling to stretch as far as the Toffees are demanding.

Manchester United could be set to sign winger Andre Carrillo this summer, taking him from Benfica for a fee in the region of £19m after he arrives at the Portuguese club on a free transfer this summer.

"?A Bola report that while the Sporting CP winger has already agreed a move to Benfica this summer, the club could be willing to sell the Peruvian straight onto United for a massive profit before he plays a single game for them.

Lazar Markovic could be set to remain in exile from the club, with Turkish sports paper "?AMK claiming that Fenerbahce have asked to extend his loan deal for another season.

Markovic has struggled with injuries since his move to Turkey, a hamstring issue ruling him out of the end of the club's season after he finally established himself as a fixture in the first team - but it appears he did enough to convince the club that he is worth at least another look.

"?The Mail carry reports from Italy, which claim that Arsenal are the side leading the chase for Juventus striker Alvaro Morata - with a convoluted transfer process looking increasingly possible.

Real are said to have included a buy-back clause of £23.6m when they sold Morata to Juve, with Real looking into the possibility of activating that clause this summer in order to sell him straight on to another club - possibly Arsenal - for a large profit."?
