Poland's star striker Robert Lewandowski has been readying himself to face several Bayern Munich team mates as the Poles face off against Germany on Thursday evening.
"?Lewandowski could be up against as many as five fellow Bayern Munich players at the Stade de France. The winner of the tie will also go along way to determining which nation will top Group C and therefore earn the higher seed for the Round of 16.
One of those team mates will likely be Jerome Boateng, who will have the tough job of dealing with Lewandowski in the heart of Germany' defence.
"?Speaking to reporters - as quoted by the Mirror - in the lead up to the Group C tie, Boateng said:
"At Bayern I congratulate him on his goals. Now we play against each other.
"We know each other very well, but I don't think either of us will be able to use this to their advantage."?"?
Boateng also claimed that Lewandowski isn't the only danger, with a number of Polish forwards posing a threat.
"They have several talented attackers, not only Lewandowski."? He added.
Lewandowski, 27, scored a staggering 42 goals for Bayern this season and has admitted that he will leave his domestic alliances aside for 90 minutes as he remains solely focused on earning a win for Poland.
Lewandowski said: "We are professionals and friends who have played together for many games. This creates a connection between us, very clearly.
"But if we represent our country, there's something else to play for and we have a target. We only have to beat each other. And after 90 minutes we are friends again."?
Ex-Arsenal striker Lukas Podolski, who is hoping to earn his 129th cap for Germany against Poland, is aware of the threat Lewandowski and his international teammates pose.
"The Poles have made in recent years a great leap. Many players now play abroad and they have many young players. They are the most dangerous opponents in our group," he said. "I hope we finish first and Poland in second place and move into the next round."?
