Peter Crouch Signs New One-Year Contract With Stoke City

Published on: 09 January 2017

In news that will delight Stoke City fans, former England striker and all-round good guy Peter Crouch has committed his future to the club - well, one more year of his future anyway.

The journeyman forward has plied his trade at a number of clubs over the years to varying success, at least in terms of goals. But what Crouch might lack in terms of consistent scoring, he has compensated for with his commitment and teamwork. "?

"?"?Having been at Stoke since 2011, he has built a good rapport with the fans, and it's no great surprise to see him sign on for another year. After being mainly used as an impact sub earlier in the season, he has forced his way into Mark Hughes' plans of late, and will be hoping for a strong second half to the season.

Of all the clubs Crouch has played for (including Liverpool, Aston Villa and Tottenham), he has made far more appearances for the Potters than any other team he has represented. With 156 appearances for Stoke to his name, during which time he has plundered 49 goals, it seems like a logical move for all involved.
