"?Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola has claimed that his team are producing the goods and putting together results and performances sooner than he expected following another victory during Sunday afternoon's home game against West Ham.
Goals from Raheem Sterling (2) and Fernandinho secured the points in what was ultimately a comfortable game, taking the new boss to five wins from five in all competitions so far.
"From the first training session, the friendlies and the official games I have no complaints about the attitude and behaviour of the squad," Guardiola said after the game (via ManCity.com).
"I didn't expect to play like this in this short time. We played well in the first half. After West Ham scored from their first chance, we had the mentality to control our emotions very well," he added.
Despite thoroughly dominating the opening 45 minutes, City had a slight wobble in the second half after a goal from Michail Antonio reduced the deficit to 2-1 and gave West Ham a little more confidence.
"We didn't concede any more chances and we made a lot more. We deserved to win by more goals but the performance was good," Guardiola commented.
The star of the show was Sterling, rewarded with a Man of the Match gong after the final whistle. The England winger has looked like a different player under the new regime, although Guardiola isn't keen to take too much credit for the turnaround.
"I did nothing, I try to do the best for all the players," the boss said. "Raz has scored two goals, that;s good but for me the games before were more brilliant."
