"?Former pro turned Sky Sports pundit Paul Merson has backed Tottenham Hotspur to lift the Premier League trophy next season.
The north London side missed out on an opportunity to clinch the title this season before capitulating and finishing the season in third place. They picked up just two points from their final four games which allowed Leicester to comfortably secure the title, and Arsenal to sneak into second by a single point.

Mauricio Pochettino's Spurs needed only a draw from their encounter with relegated Newcastle United on the final day of the season. However, an emphatic 5-1 away defeat to The Magpies allowed bitter rivals Arsenal to leapfrog them in into second place following The Gunners' 4-0 win against Aston Villa.
However, former Arsenal and England midfielder Merson told Sky Sports' Fantasy Football Club podcast that Spurs are already set up to win the Premier League title next season.
When asked who he would tip for the 16/17 campaign, the 48-year-old said: "I would go Tottenham... Tottenham don't need any players.
"They need a centre forward in case Harry Kane gets injured but they have got their team - everybody else needs four or five."
This season has seen an inspiring goalscoring run from Harry Kane who pipped Leicester star Jamie Vardy to the golden boot by just one goal. Kane, who said receiving the prize for his 25 goals was a dream come true, will be hoping his fine form continues as he prepares to line up for England in next month's European Championships.
