Pato's Chelsea Future Remains Unclear

"?Striker Alexandre Pato is yet to be told whether he has a future at Chelsea, despite being keen to stay with the Stamford Bridge side.

Pato's agent Gilmar Veloz has stated that "?"Chelsea has not given the player, me, or anyone any information regarding Pato's future."

The Brazilian striker struggled to prove his fitness during his loan spell and finished the season playing just twice in the league, scoring a penalty against Aston Villa on his debut.

The ex-Internacional and AC Milan prodigy is yet to be contacted by incoming boss Antonio Conte who is reportedly assessing his squad and plotting a summer transfer spending spree, with forwards Gonzalo Higuain, Romelu Lukaku and Alvaro Morata all being linked with big money moves.

Chelsea will be keen to forget about the shocking title defence they endured this season, and Pato is reportedly keen on being part of the rebuilding process.

Should any potential move fail to materialise, the Brazilian striker is open to joining other London based Premier League sides, with his overall preference being to remain in England over a return to parent club Corinthians.

"For now, Pato's future is still in the open, Chelsea has the option to buy, but if they don't then we will begin looking for other clubs. As of the moment, we must first wait to hear the club's decision," Veloz added.

Pato announced himself to the world of football as a teenager at AC Milan, scoring 18 times in all competitions during the 2008-09 season, and followed that up with two more impressive campaigns at the San Siro based club.

However, two injury hit seasons caused a stall in his development, and he returned to Brazil in 2013, securing a move to Corinthians.

Making his international debut and scoring in 2008 against Sweden, he hasn't appeared for Brazil since playing a half in an international friendly against Zambia in 2013.
