Paris Saint-Germain midfielder Marco Verratti has said that a Serie A side would be his next destination, should he ever leave Ligue 1.
The 23-year-old joined Les Parisiens in 2012 from Italian club Pescara, with whom he had spent the whole of his youth and professional career before transferring to France.
“I’m good at PSG, I hope to stay here for a long time,” Verratti told the press.
“However, I never said that I will not return to Serie A; if I were to leave Paris one day, I would go back to Italy.”
Verratti is currently on international duty with the Azzurri, who face Israel on Monday night in the first of their 2018 World Cup qualifiers.
A move back to Serie A may be on the cards some time in the future, but for now he is likely to stay in Paris for a long time, especially after recently extended his contract to keep him at the Parc Des Princes until 2021.
