NPFL UPDATE: Bassey Claims Akwa United Are Title Contenders

Akwa United should be considered League title contenders this season according to club Chairman, Paul Bassey. Last season, the Promise Keepers qualified for the CAF Confederations Cup by virtue of their Federation Cup triumph.

However they failed to reach the group stages of the competition and now Bassey told Sports Radio, that the club wants to play and win silverware in 2017 and brags about the club having one of the best Coaches in the league leading its charge.

He said it’ll be disappointing if the club went without winning picking a continental ticket or winning any one of the competitions it’s part of this season.
