Corrupt Referees and Club Heads In Hot Soup As NFF Goes After Them

Published on: 03 November 2016

Better late than never, the NFF President, Amaju Pinnick has declared a review, investigation and sanctions will be handed out to Match Officials and particularly, center Referees who were shambolic last season in the Nigeria Professional Football League.

Officiating has widely been identified as the blight to what was a near perfect season last term and though its been two months since the curtains dropped on the 2015-16 season, there’s has been no real attempt to officially evaluate the NPFL.

Pinnick insists the actions of match officials is tied closely with the turn out of fans at match venues or otherwise.

The FA Chief also fired a salvo at Club administrators stating corrupt club heads and blacklisted Referees won’t be let off the hook easy.

Enugu Rangers won the NPFL after a 32-year wait; breaking the hegemony of Enyimba FC and Kano Pillars over the top flight.
