Napoli's president Aurelio de Laurentiis has confessed that Piotr Zielinski is determined to move to Liverpool, "?Football Italia report.
Zielinski is currently at the centre of a tug-of-war between Napoli, Borussia Dortmund and Liverpool after starring for Empoli on loan from Udinese last season.
The talented midfielder racked up five goals and four assists in 35 Serie A appearances, and the Partenopei initially pulled ahead in the race for his signature by agreeing a £12m fee.
However, the Poland international is stalling over personal terms because he has set his sights on joining the Reds.
Speaking to Corrierre dello Sport, Laurentiis revealed that "I negotiated for Zielinski with the Pozzo family and we finalised every detail. Instead it now seems as if the player is doing everything possible to resist the move and not come here. He wants Liverpool.
"Maybe he has never been to Naples, or just loves the Beatles... If I were Zielinski, I'd run here. I'd tell him are you not interested in playing the Champions League with Maurizio Sarri as your teacher?"
Although Liverpool have been given fresh hope in their quest to snap up the talented 22-year-old, they need to move quickly because his value will sky-rocket if he performs well at the European Championships.
Meanwhile, after falling at the final hurdle in the title race, Laurentiis wants to bolster Napoli's ranks with at least three new players over the summer.
"I am negotiating for seven players and am counting on securing at least three. Hector Herrera and Gianluca Lapadula are realistic names, while I did also contact Monaco for Fabinho" he continued.
"We have 11 first-choice players, then we can count on the likes of Dries Mertens, Manolo Gabbiadini, Vlad Chiriches, Ivan Strinic and Mirko Valdifiori. I must say Valdifiori can't be that useless, because everyone is asking me for him."
