Middlesbrough Boss Aitor Karanka Pleased With Draw Against West Brom But Hints at Further Signings

"?Middlesbrough manager Aitor Karanka has expressed delight at his side's unbeaten run in the Premier League, which was extended at the Hawthorns with a 0-0 draw against West Brom, Sky Sports report.

The draw takes them to five points from a possible nine, but Karanka has hinted that, despite the promising start, further signings could be in store in the final days of the transfer window.

Four of the nine signings that Karanka has already made this summer played in the stalemate against the Baggies. Brad Guzan, signed from Aston Villa, was barely troubled during the match, with West Brom content with playing the ball in front of Boro but the same could be said of Ben Foster in goal for the Baggies.

Karanka, though, highlighted the five points his team have on the table and credited his new signings for making an immediate impact on Boro's return to the Premier League.

He said: "We are now with five points on the table and that's because the club has done a really good job on the transfer market in the summer.

"Now it's just about adding the right player or players because the squad is almost full so I'm really pleased, especially with the players who are here now.

"The market is the market and sometimes you have surprises to bring when you didn't expect it and sometimes other teams are coming for our players because we have a lot of good players."

The former Real Madrid assistant coach also hailed his side's determination and believes the point gained is vital.

He added: "I'm really pleased and really proud, especially for the spirit of the team in the second half. Before the first international break we have three points so I'm really, really pleased.

"We're in the Premier League because we've been fighting a lot over the past two years and that's the reason we play with this spirit."
