"?Mesut Özil has put his contract talks with Arsenal on hold as he considers interest from Bayern Munich according to "?the Sun.
Arsenal are keen to get the German to commit to a new deal, following his best season at the Emirates that saw him notch 19 Premier League assists, with his current contract set to expire in 2018.
After another disappointing season in which Arsenal failed to genuinely challenge for the Premier League title, Özil, who is heading into his fourth season with the Gunners, wants to see his club show ambition in the transfer market before he commits to new terms.
Bayern Munich's interest in the former Real Madrid star is reportedly part of the reason Özil is keeping his options open as the Bavarians represent a club that could offer him a better chance at winning trophies.
However, Carlo Ancelotti is set to take the reins at the Allianz Arena this summer and it was under his tenure as Real Madrid manager that Özil was sold to Arsenal in the first place back in 2013, following Gareth Bale's world record signing.
Reports also claim Özil is a Barcelona transfer target this summer although they are less concrete as they stem from Piers Morgan.
