Mesut Ozil Openly Admits He Wants Jack Wilshere's Vacated No.10 Shirt

"?Arsenal and Germany central midfielder Mesut Ozil has voiced his desire to fill the No.10 shirt vacated by the on-loan Jack Wilshere.

Ozil has been wearing the No.11 jersey since joining the London side, but now wants to switch to Wilshere's number.

The England international is currently on loan at Bournemouth, but has kept the number, and probably expects to wear it when he gets back. He has been wearing it since Robin van Persie departed for Manchester United in 2012, after all.

"?Since Wilshere's departure last summer, the number is free, but I have yet to get it,' Ozil said to German magazine Kicker, via the "?Metro.

The former Real Madrid man is in a contract standoff with Arsenal at the moment. He claims to be holding out until Arsene Wenger's future at the club can be sorted out, with the manager's contract set to expire this year.

"The club knows that I am here most of all because of Arsène Wenger," Ozil explained.

"He is the one who signed me and he is the one whose trust I have. The club also knows that I want to be clear what the manager is going to [in the future]."?

"I am very, very happy at Arsenal and have let the club know that I would be ready to sign a new contract. The fans want that I stay and now it is just down to the club."?
