Mauro Icardi's Wife and Agent Insists He Will '100 Per Cent Stay' at Inter Despite Ultra Fallout

Inter Milan captain Mauro Icardi will '100 per cent' not leave the San Siro following a public dispute with the San Siro ultras - that's according to his wife and agent Wanda Nara, who spoke to Corriere della Serra.

Question marks have been raised over Icardi's immediate future in Milan after the Argentine striker wrote negatively about Inter's Curva Nord ultras.

He wrote that he would bring 'bring 100 criminals from Argentina who will kill them' after he accused a member of the ultras from taking his shirt away from a young fan after a game.

His reputation took a further dent on Sunday as he missed a penalty against Cagliari, much to the delight of the San Siro faithful.

Inter fans flew banners criticising the 23-year-old, labelling him a 'mercenary' and a 'piece of s**t' - one banner also stated: "'We are here, let us know when your Argentinian friends arrive."

In spite of the drama, Icardi's agent insists there is no way her husband will leave the San Siro and also that there is no way he will relinquish his captaincy.

She told "?Corriere della Serra: "Get that out of your head. He will not go away from Inter, will stay 100 per cent. He is - and will stay - the captain, which has not been in doubt.

"?"He had opportunities to leave last summer but chose to stay because of the relationship he has with the fans and because he is attached to Inter. He does not want to have to start all over again.

"The newspapers spoke of an exaggerated fine, but it is not so. The fine is a small percentage of his gross monthly salary, as the rules say, and Mauro asked for it go to charity.

"Mauro didn't want to offend anyone, but when certain things are written they have a different effect - it misrepresents the tone.

"For this reason, he decided to take it off in the reprint. The book is almost sold out, in the new version those words will not be there.

"This suggests that Mauro is a decent person. As soon as he heard someone was offended he wrote an apology and then got into his car to go to San Siro."

The agent also believes that the cheers heard after Icardi's penalty were in support of the striker, although several Inter fans claim that this was not the case.

"I almost cried, not for the mistake but for stadium reaction. I've never seen San Siro clap a player who missed a penalty. That applause explains that people love Icardi. If three-quarters of the crowd applauded him it is because he is an idol for the people." She added.

"On Facebook there have been a million messages of solidarity. People wrote immediately to make him feel their affection. He is an idol for many children, an example as a player, man and father."

Earlier this year Icardi was linked with a switch to the Premier League to join Arsenal, but he soon dispelled the rumours by singing a "?new five-year deal at Inter.
