Martin Skrtel Reportedly Agrees Deal With Turkish Club Besiktas

"?Liverpool defender Martin Skrtel has reached a deal with Besiktas, and will soon make the switch from Anfield, according to Turkish website Fanatik

The two clubs are said to be involved in negotiations as it pertains to a transfer fee, and it is also reported that Skrtel has voiced his desire to leave the club, after a nine-year spell.

The 31-year-old Slovakian struggled with injuries this past season, seeing his chances limited following his return to fitness. He had to settle for a place behind Dejan Lovren, Mamadou Sakho and Kolo Toure. And even with Sakho's suspension, Toure was the one who kept getting the nod from Jurgen Klopp.

With his career dwindling, Skrtel wants to play regular first team football, something which will be even harder to do at Anfield next season, with Joel Matip having already signed, plus the possibility of other defenders arriving.

Besiktas also offers Champions League football, which is probably an extra motivator for the centre-back.
