Marouane Fellaini Asked to Present ID at Stadium Entrance Ahead of Belgium's Match Against Ireland

"?Things aren't going so well for Belgium and Manchester United midfielder Marouane Fellaini.

As if being dropped from the starting XI by Marc Wilmots wasn't enough, the Belgian was refused entry into the stadium on Saturday, because he wasn't wearing his pass around his neck.

Fellaini is dropped and now he isn't recognised by security staff #BEL #MUFC https://t.co/6ff5F2h0dk

He would have to forage through his kit bag and produce his pass before he was allowed to enter the grounds.

Fellaini is easily one of the most recognisable footballers around, but given his new hairdo, security officials can't be blamed for not knowing who he was.

They can't be blamed for doing their job either. All team members, including the manager, are always seen wearing passes around their neck, and with the sensitivity surrounding security as of late, Fellaini should have been more disciplined.

He was replaced by Yannick Carrasco in the squad, which seemed to have worked out quite well for Wilmots, as Belgium beat Ireland convincingly at 3-0.
