Manchester United Offer Zlatan Ibrahimovic 1-Year Contract With Option to Extend

"?Reports in France claim that Manchester United have offered Zlatan Ibrahimovic a contract to play at Old Trafford next season, with an option to extend the deal for a second year.

The Swede announced last Friday that he would be leaving Paris Saint-Germain at the end of his contract this summer, and RMC report that United are the first team to steal in to try to secure the Ligue 1 top scorer's services for next season.

It's said that United are one of the few clubs who are both willing and able to match his salary in the French capital, reported to be in the region of €15m per season - with financial concerns likely to be the reason that a proposed more to MLS side LA Galaxy is a no-go.

With Galaxy already having filled their trio of 'designated player' slots with Robbie Keane, Steven Gerrard and Giovani Dos Santos, they would either have to get rid of one of those three well-paid players or try to convince Ibrahimovic to play for the barest fraction of the money he could earn elsewhere.

An MLS move is possible in the future though - with his friend David Beckham's Miami franchise ready to kick off its life in 2018. If Ibrahimovic were to move to United this summer and take up the option for a second year, his time at Old Trafford would end almost perfectly in time for him to head Stateside.

The offer hasn't been confirmed by either the club or Ibrahimovic as yet, but RMC have some history breaking Manchester United deals after being hours ahead of the game when it came to Anthony Martial's move this summer.
