Manchester United Could Miss Out on Reece Oxford Due to Manager Uncertainty

"?Manchester United are said to be interested in West Ham youngster Reece Oxford, but the managerial uncertainty surrounding the club may lead to the deal falling through.

The Red Devils have been preparing to make a £10m bid for the Hammers defender, but as reported by "?Sunday Mirror Sport, there has yet to be any actual contact between the two clubs. West Ham are keen for the youngster to sign a long term deal at the Olympic Stadium and with Oxford coming out and saying he wants his future sorted within the next week, the pressure is on United to make a move.

The news broke on Saturday night that Jose Mourinho is set to become the new manager at Old Trafford, and that could yet prove to be the nail in the coffin of this deal as Mourinho is known for his reluctance to give younger talent a chance in comparison to current manager Louis van Gaal.

Oxford first rose to prominence at the start of this season, becoming the youngest player in West Ham's history when he made his debut against FC Lusitanos back in July.

The defender has come out and stated that he believes he's good enough to be a Premier League starter, but the question is whether or not a big side will want to take a risk on him. Manchester City have also been rumoured to be interested but with the likes of Kompany, Otamendi, Mangala and Denayer in their ranks it seems like the ball is in United's court.
