"?Manchester City have reportedly won the race to sign coveted Schalke youngster Leroy Sane as Pep Guardiola continues an overhaul at the Etiahd Stadium that has already seen the arrival of Ilkay Gundogan. That's after a story from Catalunya-based outlet Sport.
Sane is recognised as one of the premier talents in all of Europe and is believed to have been on Guardiola's radar while he was still in charge at Bayern Munich.
Real Madrid have also been linked with the youngster, while Liverpool are thought to have held a strong interest since last year.
Sane is the second youngest player in the Germany squad at Euro 2016 this summer. He played more than 40 times for Schalke in 2015/16 after establishing himself in the first-team as a teenager in the previous campaign.
Guardiola could yet end up spending up to £200m in his first summer as City boss. It has been rumoured that there are only a handful of players in the current squad that he sees as regular starters and as many as eight new faces could arrive by the time the transfer window closes.
The Sky Blues remain heavily linked with young centre-backs John Stones and Aymeric Laporte. According to the "?latest reports, it is no longer an either/or situation and Guardiola wants both in a combined outlay of around £85m.
A pair of full-backs, a new goalkeeper and a striker are also thought to be on the wish-list.
Just over a week ago, Sky Sports had claimed that City were in advanced talks with Borussia Dortmund over a deal for star forward Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang in a move that would have sent shock-waves around Europe. However, the Bundesliga club were quick to deny it.
