Lyon President Says Clubs Have June Deadline to Sign Alexandre Lacazette

Published on: 30 May 2016

"?Lyon President Jean-Michel Aulas has said that interested clubs have until 30th June to sign striker Alexandre Lacazette, according to the "?Daily Express.

Premier League sides West Ham United, Tottenham Hotspur and Manchester United have all been linked with moves for the 25-year-old.

But Aulas stated that none of Lyon's stars would be leaving the club once June ends - including Lacazette.

"If on 28th August, we are offered €80m for Alexandre Lacazette, he will not leave," Aulas said.

"However, if he comes to me in the days to come, because he has an offer he cannot refuse, it's possible.

"Finally, if there must be departures, they will be before June 30. There will be none after, except for minor players."

West Ham had a £31m bid for the forward rejected earlier in May and, while Hammers boss Slaven Bilic remains keen on signing Lacazette, it remains to be seen whether the Londoners will return with an increased offer.

Tottenham, meanwhile, are looking to bolster their forward line ahead of next season's UEFA Champions League campaign, with manager Mauricio Pochettino wanting to lessen the goalscoring burden on star striker Harry Kane.

Incoming United manager Jose Mourinho is also thought to be keeping tabs on the availability of Lacazette as he begins to rebuild United's first-team squad in the close season.

Lacazette was in fine form for the Ligue 1 club throughout the 2015/16 season, scoring 23 goals in 44 appearances as the French side finished second behind champions Paris-Saint Germain.

The striker, who has won the French Cup and French Super Cup with Lyon in 2011/12, has bagged 92 goals in 230 appearances in all competitions since his first-team debut in May 2010.

Lacazette was not part of France's final upcoming Euro 2016 Championship sq, but was on the standby list in case of any injuries to other squad members.
