Liverpool Youngster Brannagan Wanted by Real Madrid and Barcelona

Liverpool youngster Cameron Brannagan is being tracked by Spanish giants Real Madrid and Barcelona, according to reports.

Mirror Football believes Brannagan could be tempted by a move to Spain, with his future at Anfield uncertain as Jurgen Klopp plans his restructuring of Liverpool's squad this transfer window.

The attacking midfielder was born in Salford, and was spotted and signed for Liverpool on youth terms aged seven. He is renowned for his genuine two-footed ability, set-piece technique and balance.

Barca have reportedly scouted Brannagan, 20, at least four times, but may not be able to match Real Madrid's spending power, who have been linked with a £5.5m plus clauses deal.

The Bernabeu club have scouted the Liverpool youngster ever since the two clubs met back in 2014 in the UEFA Youth League, where he caught the eye of Madrid executive Emilio Butragueno, who then instructed scouts to watch and record Brannagan's progress.

Despite being aware and flattered by the interest from the two Spanish giants, Brannagan is reportedly happy at Liverpool and is not looking to force a move away from Anfield.

He made nine appearances in all competitions for Liverpool this season, being a beneficiary of the rotation policy manager Jurgen Klopp used during the second half of the season, with the Reds trying to juggle the Premier League, FA Cup, Capital One Cup and Europa League effectively.

Liverpool are expected to be busy during the transfer window, with many of Brendan Rodger's signings expected to leave the club while Klopp identifies potential targets who suit his style of play.
