"?Liverpool have made a £9.5m bid for Poland and Udinese winger Piotr Zielinski, according to the "?Liverpool Echo.
Zielinski, who is also wanted by Napoli, has been a long-time target for Jurgen Klopp, and the German manager has reportedly spoken to the player over the telephone, assuring him of a big role at Anfield.
The 22-year-old spent the last two seasons on loan at Udinese, attracting lots of attention with his performances. Reports coming out of Italy had claimed that the transfer to Napoli was a done deal, with the Naples club having tabled an offer of £8.7m plus add-ons.
The club's president Aurelio De Laurentiis, said recently: "Liverpool have made a bid for him and Zielinski wants to join them but we are trying to convince the player to join us, because we have an agreement with Udinese."?
It is now understood that the Polish midfielder has turned down a move to Napoli in favour of Liverpool.
De Laurentis is now lamenting over the fact that the player is trying his best to block his club's advances.
"I negotiated for Zielinski with the Pozzo family and we finalised every detail," he said to Corrierre dello Sport.
"Instead it now seems as if the player is doing everything possible to resist the move and not come here. He wants Liverpool.
"Maybe he has never been to Naples, or just loves the Beatles... If I were Zielinski, I'd run here. I'd tell him are you not interested in playing the Champions League with Maurizio Sarri as your teacher?"
