Liverpool Star Returns to Full Training as Klopp Receives Major Boost for Man Utd Clash

"?Philippe Coutinho has returned to full training for Liverpool and is "?in contention to feature in his side's next Premier League clash, against Manchester United in nine days time.

The Brazilian attacker, who has been ruled out with an ankle ligament damage sustained against Sunderland on November 26, took part in the Melwood training session on Friday.

The 24-year-old has been pivotal to Liverpool's attacking style this season, scoring six goals and providing five assists, and will be central to Klopp's ambitions of catching Chelsea at the Premier League summit.

While Klopp admitted that he was pleased to see Coutinho back in training, he confirmed that this weekend's FA Cup clash against Plymouth is too soon for the player as he tries to ease one of his most consistent performers back into action.

"(Coutinho is) on a very good way but not for the weekend, and (Matip is the) same," Klopp said.

"Milner is better. We were lucky, we had no proper injuries after the game so that's all good, but Millie had this little issue with the calf. We were not sure, because of the intensity or whatever, that it wasn't more, but I am pretty sure we will not take the risk with him for the weekend."

Coutinho's return is well-timed for Liverpool as Sadio Mane has joined up with Senegal for Africa Cup of Nations duty - and could be missing for up to five weeks. Without Mane's searing pace and ingenuity in attack, Coutinho is more than capable of filling the void until the summer signing from Southampton returns.
