Liverpool have edged closer to the signing of Leicester City's influential midfielder Danny Drinkwater, according to a report in the "?Daily Mirror.
Despite missing out on European football next season after losing 3-1 to Sevilla in the Europa League Final, Liverpool's transfer policy is not set to change, with Drinkwater remaining a number one priority, valued at £14m.
"?Reds boss Jurgen Klopp is reportedly keen on Drinkwater, after the 26-year-old impressed the German in his performances for Premier League winners Leicester this season.
However, Leicester manager Claudio Ranieri has stated he will 'do everything' to prevent losing his star players this summer.
Despite the fact that if Drinkwater was to move away from the East Midlands he would miss Champions League football next season, the recently capped England international is open to the prospect of a move to a bigger club.
