Liverpool Prepared to Use Jordon Ibe as Part of Deal to Sign Southampton Star Sadio Mane

"?Liverpool are prepared to exchange Jordon Ibe in a deal with Southampton for Sadio Mane, according to the "?Daily Star.

Both players play in similar positions and with Jurgen Klopp said to be interested in bringing in Mane as an alternative option to Mario Gotze, Ibe's days look numbered.

Southampton are believed to value their attacker at £30m and Liverpool are expected to offer £20m plus Jordon Ibe to sign the Senegalese man.

The 24-year-old scored six goals and assisted 11 goals in the Premier League for Southampton last season and has previously been linked with a big money move to Manchester United.

Mane scored two goals against Jurgen Klopp's side last season as Liverpool let a two goal lead slip to lose 3-2 at St Mary's.

Jordon Ibe's career at Liverpool has failed to ignite having been seen as the natural man to fill Raheem Sterling's boots when he left last summer but it hasn't been the case.

The 20-year-old started just 12 games last season in the Premier League scoring a single goal and could see a move to Southampton the ideal way to start rebuilding his reputation.

Any deal for Mane however is unlikely to be completed in the near future with any potential transfer having to wait until the managerial situation at Southampton has been resolved.

Ronald Koeman is expected to become the Everton manager in the coming days with both clubs having agreed the compensation fee for the Dutch manager.

Eddie Howe is the favourite to replace Koeman at Southampton with Frank De Boer also rumoured to be in the running.
