Liverpool Join Race for £10m-Rated West Ham Prodigy Reece Oxford

"?Liverpool have now joined the race to sign West Ham midfield starlet Reece Oxford, according to the "?Mirror. The Reds attempted to sign the teenager last summer, but have now been made aware that he is available for £10m after he rejected a new contract from the Hammers.

They will fight off both Manchester clubs to sign the 17-year-old prodigy, but Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp is hoping that his reputation for giving youngsters a chance will convince Oxford to move to Merseyside.

Manchester United have wanted the player for some time, but some reports are suggesting that the managerial uncertainty at the club might scupper any potential deal while Manchester City already have a host of defenders at the club and will welcome back starlet Jason Denayer from a loan spell with Galatasaray.

Wow rumours will be rumours !??

The player is hoping to have his future sorted out before he travels with the England under-19 squad for a two game trip to Mexico before the Junior European Championships in Germany next month.

Oxford impressed early on in the season for West Ham, with a stunning debut performance against Arsenal in the first game of the Premier League season and his versatility will be a big boost for Klopp as he can play both in midfield and in the centre of the defence.

Oxford became the youngest player in West Ham United's history when he played against FC Lusitanos in the Europa League and still has two years remaining on his remaining contract at the Olympic Stadium.

The asking price for the player doesn't appear to have put off any potential suitors, as Oxford is widely regarded as one of the hottest prospects in English football.
