"?Liverpool have confirmed that a deal has been agreed to sign talented young German goalkeeper Loris Karius from FSV Mainz, who will join Joel Matip in formally becoming a Reds player when the transfer window opens on 1st July.
Karius has agreed a long-term contract at Anfield and is to wear the number one jersey next season after passing a medical this week. It is believed the fee settled with Mainz is £4.7m.

"It's a very good feeling and it's an honour to play for a club like this," the former German Under-21 international explained to Liverpoolfc.com.
"They have a special history and the fans are amazing here, so I look forward to playing at Anfield. I know a lot about the club from watching them on TV. The history, everybody who plays football knows. There a lot of things in my head when I think of this club."
Karius also revealed that Jurgen Klopp had been a key influence in persuading him to sign.
"I spoke to the manager and I had a good feeling afterwards because he told me what he wants to do with the club and with the players. It was a good talk with him and after that I was convinced this was the right decision," he said.
Karius comes from the club where Klopp previously spent 18 years as a player and manager and he played all 34 games in the Bundesliga in 2015/16, helping Mainz finish sixth.
"I am delighted we have signed Loris, he has had a fantastic season with Mainz and has developed into a very good goalkeeper since his return to Germany," "?Klopp said of Karius, who previously spent time in Manchester City's youth ranks.
"I am really pleased that we were able to move so quickly to get him and that Loris has shown such a desire to come to Liverpool with a lot of other clubs interested in him."
