With Mateo Kovacic very likely to depart from Real Madrid this summer, a report has determined that Liverpool will more than likely be his next destination.
"?Sky Sports teamed up with "?Football Whispers to try to predict where the midfielder would end up if he leaves the La Liga side.
Using a unique algorithm, Football Whispers takes all football rumours from around the globe and then calculates the likelihood of them coming to fruition.
They give them a score out of 5.0, with the hottest ones ending up close to that score.
The Kovacic rumours were Saturday's highest rated with 3.7, with Bayer Leverkusen's Jonathan Tah coming in at second with 1.7 and Napoli striker Gonzalo Higuain in third with 1.7 as well.
Kovacic failed to nail down a place in the side after joining Los Blancos from Inter Milan last summer. He is certainly an immense talent, but with Zinedine Zidane's wealth in the midfield department, the Croat has found it hard to get in the side.
Perhaps a step down would be beneficial to his career, and Liverpool, who are now in a rebuilding process under Jurgen Klopp, could be his best option.
The Reds wanted to get the 22-year-old on loan, but Madrid aren't interested in loaning him out. They are, however, willing to let him go for £24m, the same amount they paid to Inter for the player's transfer.
Liverpool are also linked with Polish midfielder Piotr Zielinski. It is believed that they are in advanced talks to sign the player, who is said to have rejected a move to Napoli in favour of joining the Premier League side.
