Lewandowski in No Hurry to Sign New Bayern Deal With Real Madrid Watching

Published on: 01 June 2016

"?Robert Lewandowski has said he is calm about the prospect of signing a new deal with Bayern Munich, with Real Madrid watching in the wings.

The 27-year-old is under contract at the Allianz Arena until 2019 with the German giants understandably keen on Lewandowski extending his stay with Carlo Ancelotti's side.

But the "?Daily Mail reports that the Polish striker is in no hurry to sign a new deal, which has put Real Madrid on alert as they look for reinforcements up front.

Lewandowski's agent Cezary Kucharski has stirred up the rumour mill by claiming that tentative contact has been made with Real Madrid.

He told German magazine Spiegel: "Real Madrid contacted us a few weeks ago, we listened to everything they said.

"It's a big and exciting club. We have informed Bayern that we've held talks with Madrid."

And the former Borussia Dortmund forward hasn't helped matters by admitting he is in no hurry to sign a new deal at Bayern, despite winning the Bundesliga and German Cup double.

He told Sport Bild: "There is no pressure [to agree a new deal]. We have Euro 2016 coming up first.

"I have a lot of things on my mind. I am calm about it all."

Lewandowski has spent the last six years in Germany and it would be no surprise to see the prolific Pole move on.

With an impressive 42 goals in 51 games for Bayern Munich this season, he would add some serious firepower to Zinedine Zidane's Madrid team who can only count on Karim Benzema and Jese up top.

And with a recent 11th Champions League title under their belts, Lewandowski may fancy the challenge at the Bernebeu and the chance to win a first European Cup, having lost in the final as a Dortmund player to Bayern in 2013.
