Speaking to "?FCB.tv, the Polish captain insisted that the team cannot wait to get started, as well as assuring their supporters that he will be 100% fit for their opening game against Northern Ireland in Group C: "We want to win the first match straight away, but we know it's not going to be so easy.

"I'm feeling very good. I took a breather in the final friendly so I'll be fit against Northern Ireland. We want to make a good start to the tournament."

The Polish side have raised the expectations over their performance at this summer's tournament in France, scoring the most goals in qualifying (33), as well as beating World champions Germany 2-0 in the process. Despite the euphoria surrounding the team, Lewandowski has expressed how the side is relaxed at their training camp: "It's quite good that it's calm at our team base. At home in Poland the people are very euphoric."

Despite the excitement surrounding the Poles, injuries have hit the side at the worst possible time, with key player Kamil Grosicki attempting to recover from an ankle injury. However, the Bayern Munich striker insisted the team are not looking at the negatives: "Even problems won't stop us, they're only a challenge for us. We'll go serenely about our business."

Despite suggesting that the German's are still favourites to win the tournament, the 27-year-old is hopeful that his side can progress passed the group stage: "Everything's possible.

"Not only to win the group, but also the whole tournament. But with a little luck we have a chance."?

"I hope both teams advance and meet again in the final."
