Leicester Place A £15.3m Bid For Nigerian Star To Join Musa

With the January transfer window little more than a month away, Leicester City have reportedly placed a £15.3 million bid for Racing Genk defensive midfielder Wilfred Ndidi, according to a  Belgian newspaper.

The report states that the reigning Premier League champions’ offer could rise to a £17.8m with add-ons, however, Genk’s sporting director Dimitri de Conde believes that an amount of a£21.2m is warranted for the Nigerian.

It is thought Ndidi will provide a better solution than £13m summer signing Nampalys Mendy, who was brought in to replace N’Golo Kante over the summer after his move to Chelsea but has failed to impress Foxes’ boss Claudio Ranieri so far this campaign.

Leicester may however face competition for the twice internationally capped 19-year-old.

According reports, Championship leaders Newcastle United are also preparing to table a bid for Ndidi, who turned down a £5m offer from Bundesliga’s Hamburg in the summer with Tottenham Hotspur and Watford also reportedly interested.

Leicester already have the Genk star’s international team-mate Ahmed Musa on their books, which could convince the all-action midfielder to choose the King Power Stadium side.
