Leicester City Weigh Up Bids for Guangzhou Evergrande Defender and Europa League Winner

Leicester City are not prepared to rest on their Premier League title-winning laurels as they look to accelerate plans to bolster the squad this summer, with Steven N'Zonzi one of the players eyed by the club, according to "?The Mirror.

N'Zonzi, who recently starred in Sevilla's 3-1 Europa League final win over Liverpool, is eyed as the ideal replacement for N'Golo Kante should the Frenchman decide to leave the King Power Stadium this summer.

The Sevilla midfielder left Stoke City last summer in a £7m deal and has impressed under Unai Emery, helping the club triumph in the Europa League for a third successive season and clinch a place in next season's Champions League.

Claudio Ranieri may feel the need to fill a Kante-shaped hole in his midfield. The 25-year-old was one of the outstanding players last season and was a crucial cog in the Foxes' midfield, making more interceptions than any other player in the division.

However, his performances have not gone unnoticed and he is attracting admiring glances from a number of top clubs, including Italian champions Juventus, who are perhaps preparing for Paul Pogba leaving the club this summer.

Leicester also making plans to bolster their defence, with "?The Sun reporting that the Premier League champions will make a £10m bid for highly-rated Guangzhou Evergrande defender Zhang Linpeng.

The report claims the player is keen on the move and with the club in need of strengthening their defensive options in order to compete in next season's Champions League, it seems the deal is likely to go through. The 27-year-old is regarded as one of the finest defenders in China, earning lofty comparisons to Real Madrid's Sergio Ramos.

The defender is quoted by The Sun: "I'd love to play in the Premier League for such a prestigious club. I've had recognition from Chelsea, which was a proud moment for me, and of course I'd listen to a proposal from the champions."?
