"?Leicester City have reportedly successfully tied down highly-prized back-room staff members Craig Shakespeare (pictured in main image) and Steve Walsh to the club with new contracts after several weeks of talks and negotiations in what will be a huge boost ahead of next season.
According to the Daily Mirror, the pair are now thought to have actually signed new deals that run to the end of the 2017/18 season.
Shakespeare, who serves as Claudio Ranieri's assistant manager, and Walsh, who is the Foxes' head of recruitment, both arrived the King Power Stadium in 2011 when former boss Nigel Pearson returned for a second spell in charge.
Both had previously worked with Pearson at Hull, while Shakespeare was also assistant manager at Leicester between 2008 and 2010. Walsh had also been at Leicester during that first spell, having initially met Pearson while scouting for Newcastle.
Both men are credited with being huge parts of the club's rise from the middle of the Championship to the pinnacle of the Premier League, and were so highly thought of that they were retained when Pearson was dismissed last summer.
Shakespeare is believed to have been central to creating and maintaining the close knit bond that saw Leicester stay ahead of the competition.
Walsh, not to be confused with the ex-Leicester defender of the same name, has shown just how important good recruitment is in modern football. It was his scouting that brought the likes of Jamie Vardy, Riyad Mahrez and N'Golo Kante to the east Midlands from the obscurity of the lower leagues in England and France.
