Leicester City Offer Riyad Mahrez £100k Per Week Deal to Fend Off Arsenal Interest

"?Leicester City have offered Riyad Mahrez a new contract worth £100k per week in order to secure his future with the club and fend off interest from the likes of Arsenal and Man United according to the Telegraph.

Mahrez, who is under contract until 2019, has admitted that he could leave the Foxes this summer.

Leicester, however, are determined to see him stay as he does not have a release clause and can, therefore, be held onto more easily than Jamie Vardy and N'Golo Kante, both of whom have £20m release clauses.

Arsenal activated Vardy's release clause and offered him a four year deal worth £120k per week and while he has yet to make a decision, their reported interest in Mahrez has spurred Leicester's owners into action.

His recent comments about his future also did nothing to reassure them as he said: "Nothing is agreed, nothing is done. We will see. For the moment I have not made a decision. We will see. It is possible that I stay, it is possible that I leave.

"The season went very well. We have won the league which was very important. It is incredible. It was by far my best season in my career.

"I am not putting pressure on myself (for next season). It will be a season about confirming (my ability). Without pressure, I will have to work hard... Leicester is a family club. I would like to stay. I am very happy."?
