"?Tottenham Hotspur right-back Kyle Walker has spoken to his club's "?official website about his impressive performances for England in the Euro 16 tournament so far.

Walker received the Man of The Match award following the Three Lions' 2-1 comeback victory against Wales on Thursday.

He has been in fine form under Roy Hodgson this summer, proving a real attacking threat from the right flank, while providing solid defence at the back.

"Yes, it's always good to be voted Man of the Match because it shows the work you are putting in on the pitch is getting recognised," he said via the club website.

"Also, as a full-back, you are not going to get them as often as other players! I was just pleased to win, it was a big game for us."

Walker also praised the togetherness in the squad, which was exposed after the emotional showing after the win against Wales.

"What a great moment that was for the team. I thought we deserved the win and it showed the togetherness of the squad as well.

"We're all doing great. I keep calling Eric 'Becks' (after his free-kick against Russia) for some banter. He's secretly buzzing with that one!"

The 23-year-old added that he was really happy to finally be a part of something great with England, having missed out on major tournaments in the past due to injury.

He added: "Yes, I feel good. I'm just happy that I have finally got to a major tournament after missing the last two with unlucky injuries."
