The CAF president, Issa Hayatou has appointed Ghana Football Association boss Kwesi Nyantakyi to represent him at the CONCACAF Congress on 16 April in Bahamas.
This is another feather in Nyantakyi’s cap after helping to resolve a dispute in Kenya Football last month.
His latest appointment comes just days after he was re-elected unopposed to serve another four-year term on CAF's Executive Committee.
Nyantakyi is expected to travel to Bahamas on Tuesday for the two-day event slated for Nassau.
“The decision by Mr Hayatou to appoint the Ghanaian to attend the congress of the Confederation, representing all the countries in North and Central America, shows how Nyantakyi is highly regarded among the top hierarchy of African football,” Ghana FA spokesperson Ibrahim Sannie- Daara told Graphic.
This year's CONCACAF Congress is loaded with important activities and intense lobbying as the FIFA presidential election is scheduled for next month in Zurich.
Last month, Mr Nyantakyi was appointed by FIFA to lead a delegation to resolve an impasse in Kenya football.
