Juventus Wing-Back Dani Alves a Doubt for Sunday's Derby d'Italia Against Inter

"?Juventus wing-back Dani Alves is considered a doubt for Sunday's huge Serie A clash with Inter at the San Siro in the first Derby d'Italia of the new season.

Alves, who only joined from Barcelona over the summer, picked up a knock in the home Champions League clash with Sevilla on Wednesday night and club medical staff now intend to keep a close eye on the 33-year-old Brazilian before passing judgement on his fitness.

A note on Juve's official website confirmed, "Dani Alves is set to be monitored in the coming days after a knock to the thigh sustained during last night's game."

Alves had been a prominent figure against his former club, marauding up and down the right flank. The 2015 finalists couldn't find a way through, though - Gonzalo Higuain struck the crossbar with a header - and the players are quickly looking to get back to winning ways back in a domestic setting.

Against Inter, despite their mixed start to the season (W1, D1, L1), Juve know it still won't be easy.

"Sunday's match will be a tough test for us against a team in transition - no doubt they will be looking to prove to the home fans that they can compete at our level," Leonardo Bonucci explained to Juventus.com.

"Regardless, the Derby d'Italia is the Derby d'Italia and having missed out (on a win) yesterday, we'll be hungrier than ever to succeed this weekend," he added.

"My dream has always been to win trophies with Juventus and if we keep our focus on all fronts this season, we can truly enter into legend."
