Jurgen Klopp is a big admirer of the player and hopes to bring him to the club in January or next summer's transfer window. However, this is likely to be more difficult now that Juventus have also joined the race to sign the young German.

The Italian champions reportedly watched the player during the recent international break where he featured for Germany's Under-21s against Finland and Slovakia.

Dahoud has a reported release clause of £8.4m and his agent reveals Dahoud has already rebuffed numerous contract renewals on the promise he will be able to leave the club at the end of the season.

Dahoud was instrumental in helping Monchengladbach reach the Champions League this season with his performances in the Bundesliga. Monchengladbach finished fourth last season, but went on to thrash Swiss side Young Boys 9-2 in the play-offs.

Dahoud scored five goals and recorded eight assists in the Bundesliga last season and is well known for his dribbling skills that enabled him to create numerous assists.

Borussia Monchengladbach are keen to keep the player who is currently contracted with the club until 2018. Dahoud made his first appearance for the club this season in the German Cup win against SV Drochtersen.
