"?Juventus centre-back Giorgio Chiellini has been ruled out of Juventus' Champions League and Serie A matches this week with a thigh problem.
The Italy international was forced to withdraw from the match against Napoli at the weekend after picking up the injury, and his club have now confirmed the knock will keep him out until after the international break.
"This morning also saw Giorgio Chiellini undergo medical tests which revealed that the defender had sustained a severe knock to the posterior region of his right thigh in an incident which caused him to be withdrawn after 40 minutes of Saturday's 2-1 success against Napoli," a statement on "?Juventus' official club website read.
"Chiellini is expected to return to action after November's international break."
Chiellini had been expected to figure in Giampiero Ventura's Italy squad for the upcoming matches against Liechtenstein and Germany, but will no longer be considered for selection thanks to his injury.
The centre-back has had difficulty with various injuries over the past months, missing Juventus' trip to Lyon two weeks ago while also being absent from two Serie A games and Italy's last international fixtures.
The 32-year-old has been a mainstay in Juventus' side since joining the club back in 2005, and is likely to be replaced in the Old Lady's starting eleven by Mehdi Benatia, who is on loan with the Serie A giants from Bundesliga side Bayern Munich.
Chiellini has played in nine Serie A matche so far this season, contributing two goals and an assist with Juventus currently in first place, four points clear of Roma.
