And now "?the Sun have claimed that Allegri will be the man to replace Wenger in the Arsenal dug out.

The 49-year-old is believed to have been offered the chance to stay at Juventus but following clashes with senior players such as Gianluigi Buffon, Giorgio Chiellini, and Patrcie Evra, Allegri wants to leave Turin.

It is also reported that the Juventus boss feels his work has been underappreciated by the board. Allegri has won Serie A and the Coppa Italia in both years since his switch from AC Milan in 2014.

However, defeat against his former side in December means he will not win the Coppa Italia this year, and following Sunday's loss against Fiorentina, Juventus' lead at the top of the table has been cut to just one point.

Allegri's agent is rumoured to be talking to Arsenal with plans already in place for the Italian to step in at the end of the season.

A change of the guard at Arsenal would be a huge change for many Gunners fans who have become used to Wenger's reign at the club.

That said, Arsenal fans remain divided about Wenger. Many criticise him for his lack of spending and perceived tactical naivety.

The 67-year-old has won three league titles and six FA Cups since being appointed in 1996.
