Jurgen Klopp Opens Up on How Long He Plans to Stay at Liverpool

Published on: 22 May 2016

Liverpool's charismatic manager Jurgen Klopp has revealed that he wants to stay at Liverpool for at least seven years.

"?The German boss has enjoyed a topsy turvy debut season on Merseyside, reaching two finals and finishing 8th in the Premier League since taking over from Brendan Rogers in October.

However, his eccentric style of management and amiable meetings with the press has seen him become adored by supporters across the country.

"?Speaking to reporters before his side's Europa League final defeat to Sevilla, Klopp said:

"?"Seven years in Liverpool hopefully. Maybe you know better what people think when I joined the club. I am not sure about it but for me it's the only way to work to be honest.

"I don't feel the pressure. I cannot change. I feel opportunity. I feel the pressure of the game and developing players. I don't think I have all the time in the world but I don't think I've ever felt doubt around me.

"If that's right I don't know but it makes me completely free to make decisions and for my team and myself to be free to develop together.

"What can I say? Yeah, my former clubs all wanted to extend contracts before I thought about leaving.

"Maybe it's a long time with Liverpool I don't know, but nobody should think about three years, we want to use the momentum."

Unfortunately for Klopp, his side failed to capitalise on a 1-0 half-time lead in the Europa League final against Sevilla, eventually losing 3-1.

However, the lack of trophies in Klopp's first season fails to overshadow what a fantastic job Jurgen Klopp has already done at Liverpool, with the Anfield faithful in full support of their German tactician.
