Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has insisted that "?the club's summer transfer business will not be decided by the Reds playing in the Champions League.
According to reports in the Liverpool Echo, Klopp stated that being in the Champions League next season will have no bearing on the transfer targets he pursues.
Liverpool face Sevilla in the Europa League final in Basel on Wednesday night, with the winner granted a place in the Champions League for 2016-17, providing an estimated windfall of £40m revenue.
However Klopp insisted that if a player only wants to sign for the club if they are in the Champions League, then he will not make a move for them.
"Since I said what I'd do if a player said he would only sign if we had Champions League (puts phone down), no player has said it to me."
Klopp also added that the money that would be received by Champions League qualification is not a critical factor in transfers.
"Hopefully we will never talk about the money around signings.
"Nobody has said to me that if we're not in the Champions League that affects things."
Liverpool are set for a squad overhaul this summer, with Martin Skrtel, Christian Benteke likely to be amongst the big name exits.
While deals for German international Mario Gotze and Polish midfielder Piotr Zielinski are reported to be close to completion.
With further moves rumoured for Leicester City defender Ben Chilwell, Celtic's Kieran Tierney and Ajax striker Arkadiusz Milik, with Schalke defender Joel Matip and Serbian Marko Grujic already secured on pre-contract deals.
