Jose Mourinho Makes First Signing at Man Utd But it's Nothing to Get Excited About...Yet

"?Jose Mourinho has made his first signing as Manchester United boss, but it isn't a player - at least not yet.

According to "?The Sun, the former Chelsea and Real Madrid coach has brought in fellow Portuguese Ricardo Formosinho as his new technical scout.

Formosinho worked with Mourinho at Porto during the 2003/04 season, the campaign which ended in Champions League glory for the Special One.

He reunited with Mourinho at Madrid, also trying his hand at management with Kuala Lumpur in 2014. Things went horribly wrong, however, and his stint would only last three months.

Formosinho will join Mourinho disciples Rui Faria and Silvinho Louro in the backroom team, and will take charge of tactical scouting and determining future potential signings.

Meanwhile, the Portuguese manager should also be reuniting with former Paris Saint Germain striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic. Reports suggest that the Swede has already agreed personal terms with United, but still wants assurances from Mourinho over a major role up front, as he isn't willing to play as a back-up forward.

Mourinho is said to be eyeing Villarreal centre-back Eric Bailly, as well as Chelsea midfielders Willian and Nemanja Matic.

Mourinho is also expected to cut players from the squad, with Spanish attacking midfielder Juan Mata the chief suspect. Ander Herrera, Marouane Fellaini and Morgan Schneiderlin are believed to be on the manager's axe list too.

The "?Express has reported that the 53-year-old held a meeting with executive vice-chairman Edward Woodward on Friday to let him know which players he plans to get rid of.
