"?England striker Jamie Vardy admits that he still pinches himself to make sure that he isn't living in a dreamworld, as reported by the "?Mirror.
The 29-year-old shot to stardom at Leicester City last season, scoring 24 Premier League goals and firing Leicester to the title in an incredible campaign.
Just six years ago, Vardy was a factory worker playing for Stocksbridge Park Steels in the Northern Premier League, but he is undoubtedly a household name around the globe now.
So famous the forward has become overnight, England and Manchester United captain Wayne Rooney's son has requested a Vardy shirt from his dad.
"My lad has asked me to get him and England kit with Vardy on the back," Rooney revealed recently.
"You do get made aware of the influence I have on some kids,"? said Vardy. "I read things on social media and I get them tweeting me that all they want is a Vardy shirt or to play for Leicester.
"It's nice to know. But a lot of hard work has had to go in to where I am today.
"It's not easy to get up that ladder, so obviously I'm delighted I'm having that influence on kids and hopefully it will get a lot grass-roots players feeling that as well.
"I am always pinching myself.
"It's no secret where I've come from - and I'll always remember where I did come from. To be scoring in a European Championship for your country is unbelievable but I'll always try to make sure that I stay grounded.
"Let's just hope that that travelator keeps on going up."?
