"?England and Arsenal midfielder "?Jack Wilshere has hailed his national team's Tottenham contingent after finally getting to know the five Spurs players called up to Roy Hodgson's 23-man squad for Euro 2016.
Wilshere had never previously been in the same England squad as Harry Kane, Dele Alli, Eric Dier, Danny Rose and Kyle Walker had dropped out of favour the previous time the Arsenal midfielder was called up.
And while Wilshere was fined last year for using a swear word to describe Tottenham during Arsenal's FA Cup victory parade last year, he has now welcomed the fact that the five Tottenham players started in Thursday's 1-0 victory over Portugal.
He said: "The Spurs boys have impressed me. They're doing well. They're good players and they're great lads as well.
"It was actually my first meet-up with them. Last time I was playing none of them were there, I think Andros Townsend was the only Spurs player in the squad.
"I get on with them. Everyone expects me to say I don't, but I get on with them. They're a great group of lads."?
Whilst Tottenham's representation in the England squad has gone up, Arsenal's has diminished this year after injuries to Danny Welbeck and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, while Theo Walcott and Kieran Gibbs have both lost their places in the England and Arsenal sides.
Wilshere was a surprise inclusion to England's Euro sqaud, after playing just three games for the Gunners last season, but the midfielder insists that he is now fit to start the national team's opening match against Russia next Saturday.
"I feel good. I've been back in for nine or 10 weeks now and I feel fresh.
"I needed the games, of course, everybody needs games. You can train as much as you like but you can't get that competitiveness in training. I feel good after these three warm-up games.
"If I felt like I wasn't ready to play I wouldn't be here in squad. I want to be in the starting eleven, as every single player does, but it's down to the manager."?
