Jack Colback Trolled On Twitter For Earlier Comments Following Newcastle Relegation

"?Newcastle United midfielder Jack Colback will be more annoyed than most following the Magpies' relegation to the Championship, after it was his previous club Sunderland who compelled the Toon army to the drop.

The almost England international moved from city rival to city rival on a free transfer in June 2014 and made some rather derogatory comments about the Black Cats upon his arrival in St James Park.

Colback said at the time, "It wasn't a difficult decision. Sunderland are always battling relegation. Newcastle are a stable club and we can fight for the top 4 with a couple of additions. I have absolutely no intention of playing in the Championship, and that's why I'm joining Newcastle.

"I'll get booed at the Stadium of Light, but if Sunderland carry on the way they are, I won't have to play there again for a while". Although the Wearside club also were embroiled in a relegation battle this season, it was their 3-0 over Everton last week, which condemned the Magpies to the second tier.

Can everyone - Sunderland fan or otherwise - take some time to LOL at this. Jack Colback, ladies and gentlemen... pic.twitter.com/MYUVXRJbkI

Colback now has egg all over his face after those comment came back to haunt him and he will have to swallow his pride, even if he is to stay on Tyneside next season.
